Faction Tactics
A downloadable game for Windows

### Every thousand years, reality thins.
The Observers appear — hooded figures who walk between dimensions — and deliver the Summons. The multiverse's most brilliant war-bands are pulled to the **Nexus Field**, where vast cosmic wars distill into eight-by-eight battlefields. Only one champion will be granted a universe of their own.
**Faction Tactics** is a turn-based strategy game that starts where chess ends: familiar bones — an 8×8 board, one action per turn, capture the enemy leader — wearing five completely different armies on top.

### Five factions. Five rulebooks.
- ⚔️ **The Iron Legion** — Disciplined shield-walls that block killing blows and sacrifice pawns for the king. The formation does not break.
- 🔮 **The Arcane Order** — Elemental casters who attack at range, freeze your plans mid-move, and blink across the battlefield.
- 🗡️ **The Shadow Syndicate** — Traps, backstabs, and a Master Thief who steals your spent abilities. When they blunder, it's bait.
- 💀 **The Undead Legion** — Your captures come back as their skeletons. Their necromancer borrows your pawns. Death is a temporary inconvenience.
- 🔧 **The Forgeborn Engineers** — Dwarves who bolt the battlefield itself into a weapon. Every turn you give them, the killing ground grows.

### What makes it tick
- **One action per turn** — every decision is the whole turn. No economy, no dice (well… one coin flip), just consequences.
- **One-use specials** — every unit carries a single ability. Spending it at the right moment is the game.
- **Reactions** — blocks, phase shifts, pawn sacrifices: your opponent's turn isn't safe for them either.
- **Pawn promotion, asymmetric style** — reach the far rank and promote into any hero of your faction.
- **Campaign mode** — fight all four rival factions in the Millennial Crucible, with lore between every round.
- **Local & online versus** — hot-seat on one machine, or direct-IP online matches.
- **AI opponents** at three difficulty levels, including a lookahead AI on Hard.

### 🧪 This is a playtest build — I need you.
Faction Tactics started as a physical board game and every rule you'll play was tested on a kitchen table first. Now I need eyes on the video game: balance reads, confusing moments, bugs, and honest first impressions.
